REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: failed RAID Expansion Module (REM)
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
Note: If T6320 is connected to a Disk Module, save the configuration before removing it.
Refer to the Sun Blade 6000 Disk Module Service Manual, http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19045-01/blade.6000disk/820-1703-13/index.html
and the Sun Blade 6000 Disk Module Administration Guide http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19045-01/blade.6000disk/820-4922-16/index.html
Note: After replacing the RAID controller (REM), any existing HW RAID volumes (and member disks) may not be seen and need to be re-activated. If the Disk Volumes (including boot volume/disk) become inaccessible, consult: Troubleshooting inability to see a pre-existing RAID volume on T1000/T2000 T5120/T5140/T5220/T5240/T5440 T6320/T6340 (Doc ID 1009723.1)

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Boot system and monitor boot sequence for errors. Test functionality of system:
1. Run the Solaris "fmadm faulty" and SP/ILOM "show faulty" command (if only ALOM is supported run "showfaults -v" command) to verify that the fault has been cleared.
2. Perform one of the following tasks based on your verification results:
* If the previous steps did not clear the fault, refer to doc 1004229.1 for information about the tools and methods you can use to diagnose and clear
component faults.
* If the previous steps indicate that no faults have been detected, the component has been replaced successfully. No further action is required
3. Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
