DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
Netra T4-2 Server Training.

Time Estimate: 60 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Netra T4-2 LED Board replacing.

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

DAMAGE ALERT: Perform a visual inspection of the replacement part to make sure that there are no damaged components, connectors, bent pins, damaged packages during shipping, etc. If the part is damaged, don't install it into the system, order a new part. Handle with caution and package carefully the return part to avoid any damages during shipping.

1. Prepare for servicing:
a. Attach an antistatic wrist strap.
b. Power off the server and unplug power cords from the power supplies.
c. Extend the server to the maintenance position.
d. Remove the top cover.


WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

Remove the LED Board

1. Remove the fan modules.

2. Remove the memory risers.

3. Remove the subchassis.

4. Remove the two screws from the right side of the LED board cover.

5. Remove the screw from the left side of the LED board cover.

6. Remove the LED board cover.

7. Remove the three screws that secure the LED board to the chassis.

8. Gently disconnect the cable from the LED board.


Install the LED Board

1. Align the LED board to the location where it installs into the chassis.  The connector is at the lower rear of the LED board.

2. Attach the cable to the LED board.

3. Install the three screws that secure the LED board to the chassis.

4. Install the LED board cover.

5. Install the screw on the left side of the LED board cover.

6. Install the two screws on the right side of the LED board cover.

7. Install the subchassis.

8. Install the memory risers.

9. Install the fan modules.

10. Return the server to operation:
a. Install the top cover.
b. Return the server to the normal rack position.
c. Reinstall the power cords to the power supplies and power on the server.


OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

Within the Oracle ILOM interface, turn on the LED board LEDs.

-> set /SYS/USER_ALARM value=On
Set ’value’ to ’On’
-> set /SYS/MINOR_ALARM value=On
Set ’value’ to ’On’
-> set /SYS/MAJOR_ALARM value=On
Set ’value’ to ’On’
-> set /SYS/CRITICAL_ALARM value=On
Set ’value’ to ’On’
-> set /SYS/LOCATE value=fast_blink
Set ’value’ to ’fast_blink’

Ensure that the LEDs operate properly.


WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Verify functionality, no service LEDs or messages.
