REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: DVD failure

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

Shut down system and Power down the server.

DAMAGE ALERT: Perform a visual inspection of the replacement part to make sure that there are no damaged components, connectors, bent pins, damaged packages during shipping, etc. If the part is damaged, don't install it into the system, order a new part. Handle with caution and package carefully the return part to avoid any damages during shipping.

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED:

A. Removing DVD drive

1. Remove the top cover.

2. Disconnect the two-wire cable from the DVD bracket

3. Raise the DVD cover

4. Lift the DVD drive out of the DVD bracket

5. Remove the cable from the rear of the DVD drive

B. Install DVD drive

1. If not done already, remove the two-wire cable from the DVD bracket and open the DVD cover.

2. Attach the cable to the rear of the DVD drive

3. Align the DVD drive to the location where it installs into the chassis. The slot of the DVD drive is toward the front of the chassis. The cable connector is to the left.

4. Lower the front of the DVD drive into the DVD bracket.

5. While lowering the rear of the DVD drive, slide it forward into the DVD bracket.

6. Close the DVD cover.

7. Attach the two-wire cable to the DVD bracket

8. Install the top cover.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Turn on the system and verify functionality.

PARTS NOTE: 390-0486 [C] 8x SATA DVD-Writer/24x CD-Write (same part for both Netra T3-1 & T4-1)
