Reason: Help to configure reserved cells

Applies to:

Sun StorageTek SL500 Modular Library System - Version Not Applicable and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

To change the amount of reserved cells in an SL500.

Solution

The amount of reserved cells in an SL500 can be configured to the customers preference. The reserved cells are for cleaning and diagnostic cartridges.

You can set the reserved count to zero if the customer does not want any reserved cells, or 1 to 9 if they would like reserved cells.

From the CLI, enter RESERVED PRINT to see the current reserved cell count.

To change the reserved cell count, type RESERVED <number> with the amount you require.

The library will require a reboot for the changes to take affect.

The reserved cells will be psychically located in the base module, starting from the top of column 1.
