WHAT SKILLS ARE REQUIRED:
No special skills required, Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) procedure

REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: failed USB flash drive

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

DAMAGE ALERT: Perform a visual inspection of the replacement part to make sure that there are no damaged components, connectors, bent pins, damaged packages during shipping, etc. If the part is damaged, don't install it into the system, order a new part. Handle with caution and package carefully the return part to avoid any damages during shipping.

Shut Down the Oracle Solaris OS
Prepare the Server Module for Removal
Remove the Server Module From the Modular System
Remove the Cover
ESD Safety Measures

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED:

Remove a USB Flash Drive

1. Locate the USB flash drive at the rear of the server module.
2. Pull the drive out.

Install a USB Flash Drive

1. Locate the USB connector on the motherboard.
2. Plug your USB flash drive into the upper port of the USB connector.
3. Return the server module to operation.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Boot system and monitor boot sequence for errors. Test functionality of system. Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
