GoalReplace the Power Supply (PSU) on a Sun Netra 6000 Modular System SolutionDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS Caution - Do not leave a power supply slot empty. Power supplies have integrated fans that continue to supply cooling air even when the power supply is off.
Note - For AC systems, ensure that you install the AC power supply supported for the modular system that you have. See "Differences Between Chassis Models and Their Replacement Components" on page 16 of the Service Manual (you can find it at https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19945-01/) for more information.
Remove a Power Supply (DC)Caution - You must replace the power supply within one minute to ensure proper system cooling and operation, or you must power off the chassis.
Caution - You should keep three power supplies in the chassis at all times to supply adequate power.
Install a Power Supply (DC)Note - Wait for all LED indicators on the power supply to be extinguished before reinstalling the power supply. If you do not follow this procedure, the system might log a false power supply fault condition.
Remove a Power Supply (AC)Caution - You must replace the power supply within one minute to ensure proper system cooling and operation, or you must power off the chassis.
Caution - Remove only one power supply at a time. One power supply must be in the system at all times to supply power to the system.
Install a Power Supply (AC)Note - Ensure that the power supply is facing up and the five LED holes appear on the left when installing the power supply.
Note - Wait for all LED indicators on the power supply to be extinguished before reinstalling the power supply. If you do not follow this procedure, the system might log a false power supply fault condition.
