In this Document
Created from <SR 3-5035078642> Applies to:Sun Storage 7410 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions and laterSun ZFS Storage 7320 - Version All Versions and later Sun ZFS Storage 7420 - Version All Versions and later Sun Storage 7210 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions and later Sun Storage 7110 Unified Storage System - Version All Versions and later 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) GoalThis document describes how to configure NDMP backup of clones to be able to restore them later without the requirement to have the parent snapshot available. exalogic/local/project/share: cannot receive: local origin for clone exalogic/local/project/share@snapshot28Nov11 does not exist
SolutionThere are different situations for NDMP backup of a clone on a Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System, dependent on the location of the clone in relation to the project the clone is related.
This even applies to shares that are not clones, although at least one will be a clone.
These limitations may be lifted in a future release of software for the Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System.
For more information on NDMP and the "ZFS" backup type, refer to the NDMP Whitepaper provided by Oracle at
