To discuss this information further with Oracle experts and industry peers, we encourage you to review, join or start a discussion in the My Oracle Support Community - Disk Storage ZFS Storage Appliance Community
SolutionThe initiator CHAP name and secret needs to be correctly set to allow the initiator host to be authenticated by the ZFSSA. Also the target definition has an interface name shown in the configuration. This is the network datalink that ZFSSA uses to "listen" to iSCSI requests from the initiator. The target has to have the correct datalink name set up to listen to the requests from the initiator host.
Follow the steps below to identify target IQN and CHAP name. solaris$ ssh -l root 192.168.150.21
Password: oratkyar1:>
Also notice that the datalink name that the appliance listens on for the initiator requests is shown under the "interfaces" property. oratkyar1:> configuration san targets
oratkyar1:configuration san targets> iscsi oratkyar1:configuration san targets iscsi> show Targets: TARGET ALIAS target-000 iscsitgt1 | +-> IQN iqn.1986-03.com.sun:02:a12800dd-0262-48a7-9482-ef0c95ca0c4e Children: groups => Manage groups oratkyar1:configuration san targets iscsi> select target-000 oratkyar1:configuration san targets iscsi target-000> show Properties: alias = iscsitgt1 iqn = iqn.1986-03.com.sun:02:a12800dd-0262-48a7-9482-ef0c95ca0c4e auth = none targetchapuser = (unset) targetchapsecret = (unset) interfaces = e1000g0
