Goal

Configuring Reserved Slots When Partitioning Is Active.

Can not configure any reserved slots or make reserved slot configuration changes needed for Diagnostic and Cleaning tapes while partitions are active.

Solution

To successfully configure or change reserved slots, you cannot have any library partitions active.

To configure/change reserved slots, you will have to delete any and all partitioned slots, CAP's, and drives so that the partition / partitions will not have reserves on any of the slots in the library. Once this is done you can configure or change the reserved slots using CLI in the library and then reboot the library. When the library is back up and ready, you can then go and reconfigure the partition / partitions.

Note:
You may have to reconfigure your backup application due to SCSI Element ID's changing as a result of the changing of the reserved slots.
