Goal

The purpose of this document is to assist in collecting data from the Service Processor (SP) for further troubleshooting by Oracle support.

Solution

First step is to determine the Service Processor ( SP ) IP address

  1. Go to Web BUI: Maintenance
  2. Go to  Hardware
  3. Select the controller chassis, the Head
  4. Go to "Show Details"
  5. Go to "SP"

From there the IP address assigned to the ILOM or Service Processor can be obtained.

From the CLI you can use the following command line after logging into the Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System

ZFS700:> maintenance hardware select chassis-000 select sp ls
Properties:
                   macaddr = 0:14:4f:f7:dd:70
                ipaddr_src = dhcp
                    ipaddr = 192.168.1.10
                    subnet = 255.255.255.0
                   gateway = 192.168.1.1

With the IP address, you are now ready to use the following documents:

  • ILOM Service Processor sunservice commands for Sun Fire[TM] X4100 Server (applies to SFX4200/SFX4500/SFX4600 also) (Doc ID 1004226.1)
    • collectHostStatus.sh' is a utility in the ILOM Service Processor (SP) firmware .
      is used to collect host status information for analysis by developers, when a server is malfunctioning. IPMI sensor information, IPMI sel log history, and optionally detailed server cpu status information are collected.
