48V Power Supply Module (Drive/Rail/CIM): Removal
1. Open the library rear doors.
2. Note the ratio of functional power supply modules to the number of installed, operating tape drives; or, to the number of rail communication modules.
- You can hot-swap a 48V Power Supply Module if there is adequate redundancy.
- There must be a minimum of one functional power supply module per 8 installed, operating tape drives after removing a power supply module.
- There must be a minimum of one functional power supply module per 2 installed, operating rail communication modules after removing a power supply module.
- Power supply modules are numbered from the bottom, up:
PS 1 - 4, 7 - 10, 13 - 16, 19 - 22 power the drive bus.
PS 5 - 6, 11 -12, 17 -118, 23 - 24, power the rail bus.
- The appearance of the LEDs and handle retention tab may differ from the one (1) shown in Fig. 1-22.
3. Power-off selected tape drives or rail communication modules until an adequate ratio can be maintained.
4. Press and hold the handle retention tab (1) shown in Fig. 1-23, then pull the handle (2) to unseat the connectors.
5. Pull the power supply, by the handle, completely out of the slot.
48V Power Supply Module (Drive/Rail/CIM): Replacement
Note: Be sure the power supply handle is in the extended position. If otherwise, a closed handle will prevent connector seating.
1. Push the replacement power supply, with the handle (2) shown in Fig. 1-23 extended, fully into the slot until the connectors are seated.
2. Close the handle to secure the assembly.
3. Verify that the green LED (1) shown in Fig. 1-22 lights.
4. Close the handle to secure the assembly.
5. Verify that the green LED is ON.
6. Perform "48V power Supply Module Verification.
7. Power-up all tape drives that were powered off during removal steps.
8. Close the library rear doors.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
