DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS 2. Do NOT power off the array. - Make sure the array is registered in CAM before proceeding with the replacement.
- Do not "unregister" the array from CAM until the replacement has been completed. NOTE: If ASR is enabled, it should be deactivated temporarily before servicing the equipment so that additional unnecessary Service Requests are not created.
1. Log into Common Array Manager 2. Launch the Service Advisor. 3. Follow the steps for Controller Removal/Replacement. 4. If CAM can not contact the array after being powered on for 2 or more minutes, proceed to step 5. 5. Verify that your CAM version is 6.2.0 or higher. 6. Verify the controller IP address is correct, this requires a serial connection to the controller. Reference: Sun StorageTek 2500 Series Array Hardware Installation Guide 7. Run the following csmservice command. The correct controller firmware will be loaded, the array will reboot. Typical Command Locations:
Solaris: /opt/SUNWsefms/bin Windows: c:\Program Files\Sun\Common Array Manager\Component\fms\bin OR c:\Program Files (x86)\Sun\Common Array Manager\Component\fms\bin Linux: /opt/sun/cam/private/fms/bin csmservice -i -a <array-name> -Z UNLOCK -w OR csmservice -i -a <array-name> -f -Z UNLOCK -w
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE REACTIVATING ASR with CAM 6.10: ASR is automatically deactivated when you select "Reserve the tray for maintenance" in Service Advisor, and it is reactivated when you select "Release the tray from maintenance" in Service Advisor. If ASR was not enabled before beginning this procedure, selecting "Release the tray from maintenance" will not activate it. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
