Goal

Provide procedure for replacing an HBA and checking for and/or updating changes in device instances in a VTL Appliance.

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS:

- PROBLEM OVERVIEW Faulty HBA
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE
RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? Server will need to be shutdown
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: Gather all the
information requested in doc id 1335541.1 and replace the HBA as identified by the VTL Backline Engineer
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO
AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Verify backups are working fine to the VTL and no major errors or alarms in the console GUI.
