GoalHow to Remove / Replace Theta Counter Shear Pin in 9310 / L5510 Library:ATR:1363598.1:2SolutionDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED: Knowledge of StorageTek 9310 and L5510 library. - TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS: - PROBLEM OVERVIEW LSM is offline and inoperable. Theta errors reported in FSC log. - WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? LSM must be offline to all hosts as the door needs to be opened. - WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: Refer to the 4410/9310/L5500 Service Manual for complete details on R&R of the Theta Counter Shear Pin for 9310 and L5510 library. It provides Pictures, Notes and Cautions for work to be done. Theta Counter Shear Pin Removal (9310/L5510 Only) 1. Enter the LSM using the proper procedures. 2. Open the inner door. 3. Remove the screw attaching the shear pin clamp to the theta turntable. 4. Remove the theta turns counter shear pin from the theta turntable by pushing the shear pin from the bottom. Theta Counter Shear Pin Replacement (9310/L5510 Only) 1. Insert the theta turns counter shear pin into the theta turntable wit the pin pointing down. 2. Attach the shear pin clamp over the shear pin and secure with the screw previously removed. 3. Tighten the screw to a torque of 3Nm (26 in.-lb.). 4. Close and secure the inner door. Check the alignment using the wall alignment fixture. 5. Tighten the screws to a torque of 32.5 to 38 Nm (288 to 336 in.-lb.). 6. Restore LSM to online status. Verify the library comes back up and is functional. OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE - WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Have customer bring library online to systems and have them verify operation.
