How To Perform a VSM/SVA Microcode or EC Upgrade

Solution

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED: VSM or V2X Training, including DOP
- TIME ESTIMATE: 240 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 4

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: A Microcode or EC Upgrade needs to be performed on a VSM or SVA
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE
RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Follow the instructions included with the Microcode or EC
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

Download the code from System Assurance Center (SAC)

Perform the Microcode upgrade per the instructions included with the Microcode or EC using DOP
   - Log into the Detached Operator Panel (DOP) or system operator panel and verify the box is at 100% prior to doing the upgrade
   - Follow the instructions included with the Microcode or EC for performing the upgrade

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO
AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Verify all devices and channels are online and fully functional if needed
