WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?

Callisto Sun Fire X4470 used in the VLE has redundant power supplies enable you to
remove and replace a power supply without shutting down the server, provided that
the other power supply is online and working.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1. Attach an antistatic wrist strap.

2. Identify which power supply (0 or 1) requires replacement.

3. Disconnect the power cord from the faulty power supply.

4. Press down on the release latch and slide the power supply out of the chassis.

5. Installation is the reverse of this procedure.

CAUTION:

Install an A239A power supply, labeled for upright installation, in the
Sun Fire X4470 Server. The A239A power supply correctly exhausts air from the rear
of the server. Do not install an A239 power supply, which might cause the system to
overheat and shut down.
