How to Replace a Sun Fire X2200 M2 PCIe Riser and/or PCIe Card.

Solution

RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?

o Power off the system and remove the cover.
o Placing your fingers on the two green areas on the riser assembly, pull the assembly upward and out of the chassis.
o Unlatch the PCIe card and remove the card from the PCIe card riser assembly connector.

To Install the PCIe Card and Riser Card Assembly

o If necessary, remove the riser card filler panel.
o Insert the new PCIe card into the riser assembly and fasten the latch to secure it.
o Reinstall the riser assembly into the connector on the motherboard.
o Check the routing of all cables for obstructions, and then reinstall the cover.

TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?

Apply power to the system.
Once the ILOM is booted, log in.
Start the console and monitor the POST and boot process to ensure that the replacement process has been successful.
