Solution
DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
ESD Awareness and basic hardware competence.
TIME ESTIMATE: 60 minutes
FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
The customer should conduct an orderly software and system shutdown.
System power off is required.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
1. Power off the system and remove the cover
2. Placing your fingers on the two green areas on the riser assembly, pull the assembly upward and out of the chassis.
3. Unlatch the PCIe card and remove the card from the PCIe card riser assembly connector.
4. If necessary, remove the riser card filler panel.
5. Insert the new PCIe card into the riser assembly and fasten the latch to secure the card.
6. Reinstall the riser assembly into the connector on the motherboard.
7. Check the routing of all cables for obstructions, and then reinstall the cover.
8. Boot the system and check that the PCIe card is accessible by the OS.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
