FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: A Sun Fire X4275 Connector Board needs replacement
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
If the system is still up and functioning, customer should perform an orderly and graceful shutdown of applications and OS
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
1. Powering off the system and disconnect the power cords from the system
2. Remove the top cover
3. Remove the connector board
a) Remove the three power distribution cables
b) Remove the two No. 2 Phillips screws securing the top cover interlock to the connector break out board
c) Remove the No. 2 Phillips screw securing the connector break out board to the chassis
d) Lift the connector break out board up and out of the chassis
4. Install new connector board
a) Position the connector break out board against the chassis wall
b) Secure the connector break out board with the No. 2 Phillips screws
c) Install the three power distribution cables
d) Position the top cover interlock on the connector break out board and install the two No. 2 Phillips screws to secure it
5. Install the top cover
6. Connect the power cords and power on the system
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Boot up system and verify full functionality
