FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Replace the Service Processor of a 6320 array.

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
This component is not in the data path for the storage arrays.
A data backup is not a pre-requisite, but is a wise precaution.
The customer is not required to perform a system shutdown.
While being serviced monitoring and administration of the 6320 will be unavailable.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Follow standard ESD precautions.
Follow procedures documented in the respective service documentation listed below. Specifically section 4.7 of Document 816-7879-12.pdf

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Ensure customer and support access to replaced Service Processor.
