FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Replace Power Cooling Unit (PCU)

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer is not required to perform a system shutdown.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Follow standard ESD precautions.
Follow procedures documented in the respective service documentation listed below. Note that the documentation for the SE6x20 product includes cases for standalone SE6120 enclosures and how to handle an array chassis mounted in a Maserati rack. The customer may have to re-register a standalone array with their management software.

1. Turn off, uncable, and remove old PCU
2. Transfer Battery from old PCU to replacement part
3. Insert, cable, and turn on New PCU.
4. PCU LED should be green after PCU is replaced.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Fru status should show PCU as ready/enabled and battery status as ready/enabled or charging.

PARTS NOTE: Cache Battery is not included in PCU FRU.
