FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: FLX380/6540/6580/6780 Controller Tray PCU has been identified as faulty.
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
Array should be powered up and online, and the management host available for reference and access to the Recovery Guru.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Before beginning the repair procedure below, deactivate ASR temporarily so that additional Service Requests are not created.
After completing the repair procedure, reactivate ASR. Refer to <Document 1508403.1> ASR Deactivation / Reactivation via My Oracle Support.
1. The PCU is on the non-cabled side of the controller tray
2. Use both levers to release and pull the power supply assembly from the control module chassis.
3. Slide the new power supply assembly into the control module chassis and firmly push it until the latches snap into place.
4. Wait approximately 60 seconds for the storage management software to recognize the new power supply assembly
5. The Green power LED should now be "On".
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
1. Verify That no critical faults exist on the system
2. If applies, reactivate ASR.
