PROBLEM OVERVIEW:FLX380/6540/6580/6780 Controller Tray Interconnect-Battery Assembly has been identified as faulty.
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
Important: Verify that controller "A" has a "State" of "Enabled" and a "Status" of "OK" before removing the interconnect-battery assembly. If controller "A" is not "Enabled" and "OK" resolve the problem before starting the interconnect-battery assembly replacement.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Before beginning the repair procedure below, deactivate ASR temporarily so that additional Service Requests are not created.
After completing the repair procedure, reactivate ASR. Refer to <Document 1508403.1> ASR Deactivation / Reactivation via My Oracle Support.
1. Put controller B offline so that the host failover software can detect the offline controller and re-route all I/O to controller A.
2. Turn on the Service Action Required LED using the storage management software.
3. Verify that controller A has a state of "Enable" and a status of "OK" before going to step 4. Correct any issues with controller A before continuing with the Interconnect/Battery replacement procedure.
4. Remove the Battery/Interconnect canister.
5. Insert the new Battery/Interconnect canister.
6. Put controller B on-line and re-balance the volumes among the controllers.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
