Nothing beyond basic hardware and Solaris training

TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes

DELIVERY REQUIREMENT:

Schedule for immediate replacement within contractual terms.

 

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:

 

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:

Graphics (UPA) card failure

 

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

 

The customer should conduct an orderly software and system shutdown.

System power off is required.

 

WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

 

*** Follow standard ESD procedures to avoid Electrostatic Discharge

 

1. The connector pins on graphics (UPA) cards are extremely delicate, use care when handling

 

2. Graphics UPA card is located in the middle of the Sbus slots on the Graphics+ IO

 

3. Follow the procedure documented in 4.6.6.1 and 4.6.6.2 in:

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
