DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
M-Series training and basic field engineer skills
TASK COMPLEXITY: 2
TIME ESTIMATE: 150 minutes
FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
1. Shut down all domains
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
1. Shut down all applications (if running) on all domains on platform.
2. Shut down all domains.
3. Power off the platform.
4. ESD Safety: Ensure ESD strap is connected to field engineer and platform chassis
5. Unplug the power cords.
6. Remove top cover.
7. Pinch the handles together and pull both levers upwards simultaneously to unseat the memory board.
8. Slide the memory board out of the server and place it on the ESD mat.
9. Swap DIMMs from old memory board to new.
10. Place memory board in server.
11. Push the levers inwards simultaneously to seat the memory board.
12. Replace the top cover.
13. Power on the platform
14. Confirm hardware fix by running the following commands:
XSCF> showhardconf -M
XSCF> showstatus
Note: Please be aware when running XCP1114 the MBU status may become "degraded" and won't be able to be cleared. See doc 1538391.1 for more information.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: N/A
