FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
All domains must be shut down.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Put keyswitch in service position.
Power off the server. (system unplugged completely)
Label and remove the Ethernet and UPC cables connecting to the XSCFU.
Pinch the handle and then pull the lever on the XSCF unit downward to unseat the board
Remove the board from the slot and place it on the ESD mat.
Place the XSCF unit on the lip and gently slide it into the slot.
Lock the lever into place to seat the board.
Connect the ethernet and UPC cables to the XSCFU.
Note: FE should connect to the serial port of the newly installed XSCF in order to collect POST and XSCF startup output. In case of unexpected FRU behavior the data should be uploaded into the SR
Power on the platform (plug in the power cords)
You must immediately upgrade the XCP image on the new XSCF via the flashupdate command to the lastest available via download.
Ensure XSCFU clock is set correctly
Syntax:
XSCF> setdate -s MMDDhhmmyyyy.ss
same example: 05-OCT-2015 13:10:00
XSCF> setdate -s 100513102015.00
Put keyswitch in locked position
Confirm hardware fix by running the following commands:
XSCF> showhardconf -M
XSCF> showstatus
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: N/A
