DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
 
WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
Engineer should be M4000/M5000 product trained

TIME ESTIMATE: 120 minutes

TASK COMPLEXITY: 1

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.


WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
      Note !! If patch 143527-01 is not installed perform the following steps:
               Immediately before shutting down the domain use fmadm to clear the fault on the domain.
           # fmadm repair <uuid>

1.  Turn key switch to the Service position, confirming that the POWER LED is off, and disconnect power cables
2.  Remove the top cover
3.  Remove the memory board and place on anti-static mat

          Memory boards are numbered from 0 on the left when viewed from the front

4. Replace DIMM
          Identifying DIMM to be replaced.
         The slots are numbered from 1 from the latches on the top of the board.

         Location Number Component:

         MEM#2A, Memory Slot (Group A)
         MEM#2B, Memory Slot (Group B)
         MEM#3A, Memory Slot (Group A)
         MEM#3B, Memory Slot (Group B)
         MEM#1B, Memory Slot (Group B)
         MEM#1A, Memory Slot (Group A)
         MEM#0B, Memory Slot (Group B)
         MEM#0A, Memory Slot (Group A)

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Boot and check for full functionality
Confirm full quota of memory with:

# prtconf
# prtdiag

Confirm the hardware by running the following commands:

XSCF> showhardconf -M
XSCF> showstatus
