DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

TIME ESTIMATE: 30 Minutes
FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
1. Shut down all domains
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Shut down all applications (if running) on all domains on platform.
Shut down all domains.
Power off the platform.
ESD Safety: Ensure ESD strap is connected to field engineer and platform chassis
Unplug the power cords (Make sure to be at the same potential as the system).
[M4000]Remove fan cover
[M5000]Remove top cover
[M5000 Only] Remove the motherboard unit.
Remove CD/DVD Drive and place on antistatic mat
Remove the power and serial cables from the rear of the DVD Backplane.
Loosen the captive screw that holds the rear of the DVD Backplane in place.
Remove faulty DVD Backplane
Place the replacement DVD Backplane onto the guide pin.
Tighten the captive screw that holds the rear of the DVD Backplane in place.
Secure the power and serial cables to the rear of the DVD Backplane.
Install DVD drive, Fan
[M5000 Only] Install the motherboard unit.
[M4000]Install fan cover
[M5000]Install top cover
Confirm hardware fix by running the following commands:
XSCF> showhardconf -M
XSCF> showstatus
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
