WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
- Power off the SC Board
- If the SC is to be replaced in the main SC, failover to the spare SC.
sc% setfailover force
- On the main SC, disable the failover function.
sc% setfailover off
Note: Before shutting down and replacing an SC make sure that clock
from the other SC to all components is in a good state. To check this
run "showboards -c" command for SMS 1.4 and later. ( See *Document ID:
1006413.1 Check clock status before replacement of System controller for
more information )
- If Solaris is running on the target SC, shut down Solaris.
sc# shutdown -y -g <second> -i 0
- Power off the target SC from the main SC
sc# poweroff scx (scx is the target sc)
- Removing a System Control Peripheral Board then Remove the failed DVD-ROM from the System Control Peripheral Board
- Installing the DVD-ROM on the System Control Peripheral Board then Insert a System Control Peripheral Board
- Powering On a System Control Peripheral Board
- Power on the target SC from the main SC
sc% resetsc
- On the main SC, enable the failover function.
sc% setfailover on
- Verifying the new DVD-ROM on the System Control Peripheral Board
- Monitor the SCPost to ensure there are no errors.
- Ensure that Solaris software can communicate to all the peripheral devices.
- Insert a CD and ensure it mounts properly.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
