How to replace a V245 Power Distribution Board

V245 product knowledge/training to be qualified as Oracle service personel.
TIME ESTIMATE: 45 minutes

*FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS*
PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Power Distribution Board is faulty.
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution
Customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown
Power down System & disconnect Power Cords
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Follow standard ESD procedures to avoid Electrostatic Discharge
1. Power off the system
Caution - The system supplies power to the power distribution board even when
the server is powered off. To avoid personal injury or damage to the server, you
must disconnect power cords before servicing the power distribution board.
2. Remove the power supplies from the chassis
The power supplies are attached to the power distribution board. Push the power
supply latch to the right and pull the power supply out a few inches to disengage it
from the power distribution board.
3. Remove the motherboard/SAS backplane cable.
a. Remove the upper and lower cable retainers
The retainers protect the optional DVD super-multi drive, hard drive
backplane, and motherboard cable from damage.
4. Disconnect the motherboard/SAS backplane cable from the power distribution
board, hard drive backplane board, motherboard, and if necessary, the optional
DVD super-multi drive
5. Disconnect the cable from connector J6 on the power distribution board
6. Remove the hard drive fan tray.
7. Remove the two screws that attach the hard drive fan cage to the chassis of the server.
8. Remove the hard drive fan tray cage.
9. Remove the three screws that secure the power distribution board to the chassis
10. Slide the power distribution board toward the front of the chassis and remove it.
11. Place the power distribution board on an antistatic mat.
12. Unpackage the replacement power distribution board and place it on an antistatic mat.
13. Loosely fit the power distribution board onto the locator pins in the chassis
and slide the board toward the rear of the chassis
14. Reinstall the power distribution board and the three screws.
15. Reconnect the cable from connector J1 on the hard drive fan tray connector
board to connector J6 on the power distribution board.
16 Please follow the upper points (4-8) in reverse order
17. Reinstall the upper and lower cable retainers for the motherboard/SAS backplane cable
18. Reinstall the power supplies
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Boot the system and start the application as per the sys admin procedure
