No special skills required, Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) procedure

*REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS*
PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Faulty DVD
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.
Then power down the system and disconnect the Power Cord.
WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED:
1. Powering off the system
2. Remove the rear cover
3. Remove the bezel
4. Remove the front cover
5. Remove the upper cable retainer
6. Disconnect the motherboard/SAS backplane cable
7. Push the spring latch to the right and hold
8. Remove the DVD super-multi drive from the chassis
9. Place the drive on an antistatic mat
10.Slide the DVD super-multi drive into the front of the chassis until it seats
11.Connect the motherboard/SAS backplane cable to the DVD super-multi drive
12.Install the upper cable retainer
13.Install the bezel
14.Install the rear cover
15.Powering on the system
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
