How to replace a V245 PCI Riser Card

No special skills required, Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) procedure

*REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS*

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Faulty PCI riser card

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.

Then power down the system and disconnect the Power Cord.
WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED:

1. Powering off the system
2. Remove the rear cover
3. Remove the air baffle
4. Remove any PCI option cards that are installed
5. Remove the PCI-X and PCI-E riser boards
6. Release the PCI hold-down bracket
7. Place the PCI riser boards on an antistatic mat
8. Install the new PCI riser boards in the motherboard connectors
9. Install the PCI option cards
10.If a PCI long card is installed, use the brace from the air baffle to support the card
11.Install the rear cover.
12.Powering on the system

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
