How to Replace a Sun Fire X4150, X4250 Power Cord.

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED:
No special skills required, Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) procedure

TIME ESTIMATE: 15 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: A Sun Fire X4150, X4250 Power Cord needs replacement

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

Server has two power cords with dual power supply redundancy. The server can remain running if replacing only one power cord. If, not Customer should shut the operating system down gracefully (using "init 0").

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Remove the power cable:
1. Verify the system has been shut down by the customer
2. Replace power cable.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Restart system and have the System administrator verify functionality of system.
