DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
SE450 product knowledge/training to be qualified as Oracle service personel.

TIME ESTIMATE: 60 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty AC Line Filter

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. Then power down the system. Then Position the System for Service, Remove the Right Side Panel, Remove the Disk Fan Tray Assembly, Avoid Electrostatic Discharge.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

REMOVAL:
1. Remove the screw holding the tie-wrap that secures the AC power cord to the system, then disconnect the AC power cord from the system.

2. Disconnect the AC line filter cable from the top of the power distribution board at connector J0308.
Press the tabs on each side of the connector to release it.

3. Remove the two Phillips screws that secure the AC line filter assembly to the rear panel.

4. Pry the assembly part way out of the chassis using a flat-blade screwdriver.

5. Pull the assembly the rest of the way out of the chassis.
Place the assembly on an antistatic mat.

INSTALLATION:
1. Slide the AC line filter assembly into the chassis, cable first.
Position the assembly so that the label is on top.

2. Fasten the two Phillips screws that secure the AC line filter assembly to the
rear panel.

3. Connect the AC line filter cable to the top of the power distribution board
at connector J0308.  Make sure that the tabs on the connector snap into place.

4. Connect the AC power cord to the system.

5. Replace the screw that secures the power cord tie-wrap to the chassis.

6. Install the Disk Fan Tray Assembly

7. Install the Right Side Panel

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Restart system and have the System administrator verify functionality of system.
