WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)

SE450 product knowledge/training to be qualified as Oracle service personel.

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Crypto Accelerator Board Failure

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. Then power down the system and disconnect the Power Cord. Then Position the System for Service, Remove the System Cover, Avoid Electrostatic Discharge and Remove the Removable Media Assembly (RMA).

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1) Remove and Install a Crypto Accelerator Board

1. Shut down and power off the computer, disconnect the power cord, and remove the computer cover.

2. Attach an antistatic wrist strap to your wrist, and attach the other end to a grounded metal surface.

3. Holding the Crypto Accelerator board by its edges only, take it out of the plastic bag and insert it into the PCI slot, and then secure the screw on the rear bracket.

4. Replace the computer cover, reconnect the power cord, and power on the system.
Note - You must install the Crypto Accelerator board before you install the Crypto Accelerator driver software.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.

PARTS NOTE:

For Crypto Accelerator I
1. The minimum operating system is Solaris 2.6.
2. The Crypto Accelerator board Public Key product falls under the authority of U.S. export controls policy and requires an export license.

For Crypto Accelerator 1000
1. The minimum operating system is Solaris 8 7/01.
2. The Crypto Accelerator board Public Key product falls under the authority of U.S. export controls policy and requires an export license.
