FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Faulty power supply

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

The system provides 2+2 redundancy, which means a completely loaded system can run with only 2 power supplies.  Power supplies are hot swappable which means they can be replaced on a running system without issuing a software command.  To avoid an unplanned outage always maintain at least 2 functioning power supplies.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1. From the rear of the system, unlatch the cable management arm from the inner glide and move it
out of the way.
2. Disconnect the AC power cord from the power supply you want to remove.
3. Grasp the power supply by its handle and press the release latch with your thumb.
4. Slide the power supply out of the system.
5. Slide the power supply into its bay in the system.
6. Press the power supply firmly unit it latches into place.
7. Connect the AC power cord to the power supply.
8. Reattach the cable management arm to the inner glide.
