*REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS*
PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Faulty Power Cord
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer is not required to perform a system shutdown.
WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED:
1. Identify which power cord you will replace. Each power supply has three LEDs that you can view from the rear of the server:
Top LED is on (green): Power supply is operating properly
Middle LED is on (amber): Power supply is faulty and should be replaced
Bottom LED is on (green): Power source to power supply is operating properly
2. Disconnect the power cord from the power supply that you are replacing
3. Install replacement power cord
WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Check that LEDs show PSU for which cord was replaced is functioning.
