Goal

How to Replace the Compact Flash Card for the Sun Blade X6450.

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
Field engineer.

DELIVERY REQUIREMENT:
As required by the customer.

TIME ESTIMATE: 60 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :Backup the data and power off the system.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
1. If necessary, back up any data that is contained on the compact flash (CF) card.

2. Power off the server and remove the server module from the chassis.

3. Remove the main cover, to remove the main cover you have to press down on the cover release button and, using the indent for leverage, slide the main cover toward the rear of the chassis approximately 0.5 inch (12 mm).

4. Locate the CF card under the RAID Expansion Module at the back of the server module

Note: The server module might not have a RAID Expansion Module, If the optional RAID Expansion Module is installed, you do not need to remove the RAID Expansion Module to remove the CF card.

5. Grasp the card, push down slightly, and pull card out.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Restore the system, and safe the back up information.
