As required by the customer.
TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes
FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :Power off the server and remove the server module from the chassis.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
To remove:
1. Remove the main cover
2. Press the Remind button on the motherboard to blink the LED for the DIMMs that have failed.
3. Locate the DIMM slot on the motherboard.
NOTE: LED is blinking (amber), the DIMM is faulty and should be replaced.
4. Rotate both DIMM slot ejectors outward as far as they will go, this action partially ejects the DIMM from the slot.
5. Carefully lift the DIMM straight up to remove it from the slot.
To install:
1. Ensure that the DIMM slot ejectors at each end of the memory socket are fully open (rotated outward).
2. Set the DIMM on the slot, press down evenly on both top corners of the DIMM until the ejectors rotate upward and snap into place.
3. Install the server module main cover, and insert the server module into the chassis.
4. Use the SP to verify and view DIMM component information. See the corresponding ELOM or ILOM documentation collection.
5. Verify that upon boot bios displays correct memory amount.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Start the system up.
