How to Replace the Optional Solid-State Drive for the X6450 Server Module.

Field engineer with experience on replacing this components.
DELIVERY REQUIREMENT:
As required.
TIME ESTIMATE: 150 minutes
FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :Verify that your server module is the correct revision, The server module must be revision 2 or newer.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
To remove and install:
1. Verify that your server module contains the appropriate BIOS and SP.
2. Power off the server and remove the server module from the chassis.
3. Remove the main cover.
4. If necessary, remove and retain the optional RAID expansion module. See to remove RAID extension module
5. If necessary, remove and retain the optional fabric expansion module.
6. Remove the cable, the SSD mounting bracket, the SSD, and the two packets of screws from the packaging.
7. Route the cable through the large rear-most opening in the center support bracket so that the end of the cable with two connectors is on the left side of the bracket.
8. Press the larger of the two cable ends (SATA data) into the black connector on the motherboard labeled “SATA”.
10. Press the other end of the cable (SSD power) into the white connector labeled JP5.
11. Take up any slack in the cable by gently pulling the excess cable through the center support bracket and towards the right side.
12. Using a #2 screwdriver and the four shorter screws (M2.5 x 4.5L), fasten the mounting bracket to the threaded standoffs on the motherboard.
13. Insert the SSD into the mounting bracket so that the screw holes in the SSD face upward.
14. Align the four screw holes in the SSD with the four holes in the mounting bracket, and fasten the SSD to the mounting bracket using the four remaining (longer) screws.
15. Attach the cable to the SSD connector.
16. Install the optional Sun Blade RAID Expansion Module. See install RAID extension module.
17. Re-verify bios and firmware revision on Blade.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Start up the system.
PARTS NOTE:
The SSD is connected to the motherboard (MB) and is controlled by the onboard SATA2. No additional controller hardware is required. The MB must be revision 2.
