CAP PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Replace Fan Tray (FT)

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:

Starcat Training and knowledge of SMS commands

TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

TIME ESTIMATE: 20 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :N/A

* This type of FRU is Hot swappable.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

From the Main SC:
SC> poweroff ft#
FT0: powered off

Perform the physical replacement

The fan tray can be removed if the "ok to remove" LED is lit.
SC> poweron ft#
FT0: powered on
Verify fan is working
showenvironment -p fans

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
N/A
