E2900 Product training or experience in fru replacement procedures of midrange servers.

TASK COMPLEXITY: 4

TIME ESTIMATE: 120 minutes

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Faulty Power Distribution Board

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

* cold swap component complete shutdown required -

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Follow all ESD precautions.
Take the system to standby mode.
Label and remove all four power cables, IB_SCC connections, and any cables that would impede sliding the chassis from the rack.
Make sure leveling feet are extended to the floor and extend the cabinet stabilizer bar.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Boot system and test functionality. Monitor boot sequence and check prtdiag, fmdump, and dmesg.
