DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:
420R product knowledge/training to be qualified as Oracle service personnel.

TIME ESTIMATE: 50 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. Then power down the system and disconnect the Power Cord, Remove a Power Supply, Position the System for Service, Remove the System Cover, Avoid Electrostatic Discharge, Remove the Fan Tray Assembly.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1) Remove PDB

1. 1. Disconnect the control cable from PDB at connector J0209.
2. Disconnect the I/O power cable from PDB at connector J0210.
3. Disconnect the UltraSCSI data cable from the main logic board at connector J2101.
4. Disconnect the main power cable from PDB at connector J0201.
5. Disconnect the CPU power sense cable from PDB at connector J0205.
6. Disconnect the keyswitch/power button/LED cable from PDB at connector J0500.
7. Loosen the three captive Phillips screws that secure PDB cover panel to the chassis.
8. Remove PDB cover panel.
9. Remove the left (when looking from the back of the system) AC power connector assembly from the chassis.
10. Remove the seven screws securing PDB to the chassis.
11. Adjust the cable connected to the center AC power connector assembly so that it does not interfere with lifting PDB out of the chassis.
12. Lift PDB out from the chassis.

2) Install PDB

1. Position PDB in the chassis floor.
2. Replace the seven Phillips screws that secure the board to the chassis.
3. Replace the AC power connector assembly (and the cable attached to it).
4. Replace PDB cover panel.
5. Tighten the three captive Phillips screws that secure PDB cover to the system chassis.
6. Connect the control cable to PDB at connector J0209.
7. Connect the main power cable to PDB at connector J0201.
8. Connect the CPU power sense cable to PDB at connector J0205.
9. Connect keyswitch/power button/LED cable to PDB at connector J0500.
10. Connect I/O power cable to PDB at connector J0210.
11. Connect UltraSCSI data cable to main logic board at connector J2101.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
