WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
420R product knowledge/training to be qualified as Oracle service personel.

TIME ESTIMATE: 40 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty Graphics Card

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. Then power down the system and disconnect the power Cord. Then position the system for service, remove the system cover, Avoid electrostatic discharge.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
1) Remove the PCI Graphics Card

1. Disconnect the external cable attached to the faceplate of the PCI card.
2. Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, remove the screw and washer that secure the card to the system back panel.
3. Pull the PCI card from its slot.
4. Place the PCI card on an antistatic mat.

2) Install the PCI Graphics Card

1. Insert the PCI card into the appropriate slot on the main logic board.
2. Secure the PCI card faceplate to the back panel with the Phillips screw.
3. Connect the external cable to the PCI card.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
