Acquiring Oracle StorageTek SL3000 Hardware Activation Files Media Pack for Generic Platform.

Solution

The SL3000 activation key process has changed.  This was previously known as SILKs.

New File System for Activating Library SW Features:
What:
- New files for activating library features.
- Files are customer downloadable / installable.
  (Note: service can help install, but cannot download.)
-  One file per feature, ex. 100 slot upgrade is one file and partitioning is another file.
Why:
- Replaces SILKS files.
When:
- SL3000 will launch new files at 3.0
- SL8500 will launch files at Code 7.0
- SILKS is EOL as of the end of 2011

Hardware Activation Files:
Replaces Silks Keys at Code 3.00
E-delivery Hardware Activation Files controls 4 software enabled features.
- Partitioning
- Dual TCP/IP
- Dual FC Interface
- Capacity Upgrades; 25/100/200/500/1000 increments

Hardware Enabled Features Via CLI; hwActivation xxxx enable.
- Redundant Electronics
- Dual Robotics
- Service Log Snapshot

- E-delivery Site at: http://edelivery.oracle.com/

Within the e-delivery site:
• Choose Product: Oracle StorageTek Products.
• Choose Platform: Generic Platform.
• Select the StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System Hardware Activation Files and choose the appropriate file(s) for the feature(s) purchased.

NOTE: Only customers can download the files, but services / sales can help install.

SILKS Missing Licenses Code Below 3.0:
In the event of a missing or inaccurate hardware activation file:
• Send an email to the following address.
-  SILKS_Missing_Licenses_US@oracle.com
• In the email please include:
- Sales Order#
- Library serial#
- Correct activation file configuration
