DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
SE9910/9960/9970 ST9980/9985/9990 Overview, Training on DKA replacement and SVP operation.
TIME ESTIMATE: 60 minutes
FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS
PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
- Processor blocking
- CHKX threshold over
CONFIRM THE FAULT BY CHECKING:
Verify through the SIM log and maintenance mode on the SVP
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
DKA replacement is transparent to the host , however it is preferred that the DKA not be replaced during a time of High I/O.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
- enter maintenance mode on SVP
- Select failed component , initiate replacement
- Change PCB
- online PCB
- Complete SIM
CONFIRM THE FIX BY:
Verify through the maintenance mode on SVP .
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
No Action required as this is a back-end procedure on the array and not visible to the host.
PARTS NOTE:
None
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Replacement procedure is RDA1 for all arrays except 9985 , which uses
RMX1 for MIX PCB.
