How to Solve SL8500 power Problems
Solution
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Power problem on SL8500
CONFIRM THE FAULT BY CHECKING: Do health check on library via SL Console
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
If SL8500 is still operational on redundant power, no user action is required.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER/ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
- Check status of power supplies via SL Console.
- Check power LEDs on power supplies.
If problem continues to show up, a Service Request will need to be opened for a Customer Service Engineer to come to the account and resolve this issue. Pull a Log Snapshot from the library and attach it to the SR. This will assist in determining the problem. Refer to this Knowledge Entry in the SR at the time of opening.
- Re-seat power supply that is reporting not functional.
- Replace failed power supply as indicated in SL Console.
- Record specific error code and messages associated with failure in case notes.
- Record all relevant visual observations of error in case notes.
- Record final fix in case notes.
CONFIRM THE FIX BY: Perform health check on library via SL Console
