WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)
V210 product knowledge/training to be qualified as Oracle service personel.
Time Estimate: 30 minutes

*FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS*
PROBLEM OVERVIEW:
Card Reader failed.
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
Ensure that the system configuration card is not removed before system is brought down.
Follow standard ESD procedures to avoid Electrostatic Discharge
Replace the part following the steps below, refererence the service manual below:
Remove the defective part:
1.Power off the server.
2.Ensure that the server is properly grounded.
3.Remove the front section of the cover assembly.
4.Remove the system configuration card. Place the system configuration card aside.
5.Disconnect the cable leading to the lower interface board from the configuration card reader
6.Unclip the system configuration card reader
Install the new part:
1.Position the new configuration card reader board by lining up the fixing holes with the clips in the top of the DVD drive enclosure.
2.Press the new reader board firmly onto the clips to secure it in place.
3.Reconnect the system configuration card reader power cable.
4.Install the system configuration card.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
