REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:  Faulty Power Cord

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
Server has two power cords with dual power supply redundancy the server can remain running if replacing only one power cord. If, Customer should shut the operating system down gracefully (using "init 0"), and after the system has shut down Switch from the system console to the -> prompt by typing the #. (Hash Period) key sequence.
At the -> prompt, type the stop /SYS command.

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED?:

Remove the power cable:

1. Verify the system has been shut down by the customer.

2. Replace power cable.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?:
Power on and boot system verify system fully operational.
