WHAT STATE SHOULD SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?
Data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
Customer should conduct orderly software system shutdown.
Power down system.
WHAT ACTION DOES ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:
- Change mode switch setting on operator panel from Locked to Service
- From a console connected to XSCF, log in and execute poweroff -a command
- Confirm power-off processing is completed by confirming POWER LED (green) on operator panel is off
Note: On a M9000-64 the base cabinet should be switched off first, then expansion cabinet.
- Switch off all main line switches for AC section (ACS) in power supply system
- Switch off all main line switches for AC section (ACS) in power supply system
- Remove XBU to be replaced.
- If expansion cabinet is installed, slide top and bottom cable support brackets up or down by two holes, and remove clock cables.
- Remove XBU from slot and place on antistatic conductive mat.
- Grasp levers, align replacement crossbar unit with slot guide, and insert
Note: Do not use excessive force while inserting XBU's.
Note: Ensure cards are fully and properly seated before applying power to the frame.
- If expansion cabinet is installed, connect cables for connecting base cabinet to exp cabinet crossbar unit.
- Hold cable connector covers and insert connectors perpendicular to front plate of XB unit until they come into contact with front plate.
- Then, while ensuring that cable weight does not cause cable connectors to become slanted, fix data cable connectors in position with a screwdriver while supporting cable connector with one hand.
- Confirm connector housing is securely affixed to XBU, not slanted sideways, upward or downward
- Secure clock cable connector with torque of 0.2N*m (2.0kgf*cm)
Caution !! If you are unable to obtain a torque screwdriver, finger tighten clock cable connectors only
Caution !! Do not secure clock cables to cable folder along with data cables, and lay clock cables on data cables.
- Return top and bottom cable support brackets to original positions in respective upper and lower holes.
Note ! Visually check from opening in upper cover to ensure two PCBs do not come into contact with cable.
Note: On M9000 with an expansion cabinet, expansion cabinet should be switched on first, then base cabinet.
- Switch on all main line switches for AC section (ACS) in power supply system.
- Confirm XSCF STANDBY LED (green) on operator panel remains lit. If blinking, wait until it remains lit.
Caution !! When maintenance work is completed, be sure to confirm mode switch setting and return switch to Locked.
